David Beckham Has Been Crowned ‘People’ Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive

People magazine has named David Beckham, the British former soccer star and model, as 2015’s Sexiest Man Alive.

Upon learning that he had won the Sexiest Man Alive title for the year, Beckham, 40, expressed his gratitude. “It’s a huge honor, and I’m very pleased to accept,” Beckham told People.

Though Beckham had no trouble accepting the honor, he admitted that he doesn’t necessarily think of himself as a sex symbol. According to him, he just likes to look and feel good.

“I never feel that I’m an attractive, sexy person,” he told People magazine. “I mean I like to wear nice clothes and nice suits and look and feel good, but I don’t ever think of myself that way.”

While the star athlete might not have thought of himself as a Sexiest Man Alive candidate, he does hope that his wife, designer Victoria Beckham, thinks that’s the case.

“I would hope that she feels this way about me all the time anyway!” he said. “But she said, ‘Congratulations!’ ”

As for the kids – Brooklyn, 16, Romeo, 12, Cruz, 10, and Harper, 4 – they were amused more than anything else. “We kind of laughed about it with the boys and the boys kind of laughed at me and said, ‘Really?! Sexiest man alive? Really?’ “
