Soccer star David Beckham, 36, was involved in a car crash Friday morning when his Cadillac Escalade was unable to avoid a car that had stalled in the carpool lane on the 405 freeway near Los Angeles.
“When [the car ahead of them] stalled, David and the other drivers swerved to avoid it but they couldn’t get out of the way in time,” a source told the Daily Mail. “David’s car was taken away from the scene by a tow truck. It had lost a front bumper in the collision."
Beckham and his 12-year-old son Brooklyn, who was also in the car, were not injured, but the pair was said to be "shaken up" by the incident. Everyone involved was of wearing seatbelts, and though the driver of the other vehicle was taken hospital for neck pain, there are currently no reports of serious injuries.
Beckham's wife Victoria, 37, who is pregnant with the couple's first daughter, seemed to be in good spirits the next day at her baby shower, which was hosted by pal Eva Longoria. She tweeted a photo of a party game that involved wrapping herself and pregnant friend Selma Blair in toilet paper.
