David Arquette and his girlfriend, entertainment reporter Christina McLarty, are engaged to be married.

Arquette, 42, popped the question Wednesday night during a family dinner at a Malibu restaurant with their 2-month-old son Charlie West and Arquette’s daughter with Courteney Cox, Coco in attendance. After they’d been seated for 45 minutes, Arquette brought the group outside, where the sun was setting, reported E! News.

Arquette proposed to McLarty with a large blue center stone. Upon saying yes, McLarty asked her soon-to-be stepdaughter, “Coco, did you know?” Coco replied, “Maybe,” before giggling, “Engaged! Engaged!”

The newly engaged pair first began dating in the summer of 2011. In November 2013, Arquette and McLarty revealed that they were expecting their first child together. They welcomed Charlie in April.

"Mom, dad and baby are doing well,” Arquette’s rep said at the time. “They appreciate all of your well wishes and thank you for respecting their privacy at this time."

Incidentally, Cox, whom Arquette amicably divorced from last year, announced her engagement to Snow Patrol band member Johnny McDaid just last week.
