Foo Fighters star Dave Grohl came forward and admitted he had cheated on his wife and had a child.

Grohl and his wife, Jordyn Blum, have been married since 2003 and share three children, Violet, 18, Harper,  15, and Ophelia, 10.

Grohl has a history of cheating, as he was divorced from his first wife, Jennifer Leigh Youngblood, in 1997 after he admitted to an infidelity.

In a post to Instagram on September 10, Grohl made his confession in a short paragraph with black words in a strange font on a white background.

Grohl began point blank, “I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter born outside of my marriage.”

He continued, “I plan to be her loving and supportive parent. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.”

Grohl added, “We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved as we move forward together.”

A self-described “family man,” Grohl has been highly vocal throughout interviews about the importance of his family to him over the years. He told The Guardian in 2007, “Jordyn and Violet are anchors that keep me from completely disappearing.”

In an interview with Time in 2012, he declared that family “changed everything that I do” and explained, “When you have kids, you see life through different eyes. You feel love more deeply and are maybe a little more compassionate. It’s inevitable that that would make its way into your songwriting.”

In 1986, when he was 17, Grohl replaced drummer Kent Stax in the punk rock band Scream. From 1990 to 1994, Grohl was the drummer for Nirvana, and in 1994, he founded Foo Fighters as the lead singer, guitarist and songwriter for the band.
