Brie had described the engagement as “very exciting,” as she debuted her engagement ring. The actress, who has also starred in Mad Men, described Franco as “the sweetest man I know. And he’s so funny and incredible in every way.”
The lovebirds have also worked together on-screen. The actress, 34, and Franco, 31, had co-starred in Funny or Die’s NSFW “Dream Girl” video together in 2013. Recently, the two co-starred in Little Hours, a comedy film about a servant fleeing from his master and taking refuge with a group of nuns. They also both starring in James Franco’s biographical comedy film The Disaster Artist, which studies the making of Tommy Wiseau‘s The Room.
While on set together for the filming of Little Hours, the couple learned that “Alison should not be on set while I’m having sex scenes with other women,” Franco said at Sundance. “When we’re playing a romantic couple type of thing, we obviously want there to be chemistry onscreen or otherwise, everyone’s like, ‘What are you guys doing together?'”
“Well, we are generally very private, but then when you’re doing scenes where you’re making out, you’re like, ‘Well, we don’t want the make-out to look lame,'” added Brie. “It’s so wonderful to work with someone that you’re getting married to.”
