Dave Chappelle continues his come back tour this weekend with musician John Mayer in a “comedy and music hybrid.” Chappelle and Mayer will perform together Friday and Saturday at the Fillmore Theatre in San Francisco.
The show is listed on the Fillmore’s site as Controlled Danger and calls Chappelle and Mayer “two of the greatest creative minds working today.”
Like all of Chappelle’s shows, cell phones and other recording devices are strictly prohibited in the theatre. The comedian has employed this rule ever since his return to show business.
The tickets, which cost $103, went up for sale at 10 a.m. on Friday and will only be available through will call.
Chappelle and Mayer have worked together previously. Mayer appeared on the wildly successful Chappelle Show. In the sketch, Chappelle jokes that white people can dance as long as an electric guitar is playing. The instrument, he says, speaks “directly to the soul” of a white person.
