Now that the engagement has been announced, the public is wild to get their hands on the details surrounding the upcoming wedding between Prince William and his fiancee Kate Middleton.
The Royal Family recently revealed that the wedding would take place this spring on April 29, at Westminster Abbey. The Royal Family has also stated that they will pay for the wedding. While Princess Diana and Prince Charles married at St. Paul's Cathedral, Westminster Abbey has a different significance for Prince William: it was the site of Diana's funeral.
The day of the wedding will be a national holiday in England, and a semi-state occasion. "The wedding of Kate and William will be a happy and momentous occasion," said Prime Minister David Cameron. "We want to mark the day as one of national celebration, a public holiday will ensure the most people possible will have a chance to celebrate on the day." Other details, such as who will design Middleton's dress, have not yet been released. –AMY LEE
