Actor Danny Masterson was found guilty on two counts of rape on Wednesday afternoon in Los Angeles. He was not convicted of a third count – ten of the jurors out of the 12 found him not guilty of the third charge.
He is facing a sentence of 30 years to life in prison.
He was arrested and charged in 2020. In 2021, it was found that the evidence found against him was insufficient for him to be tried. Until his trial, he had been out on bail, which was set at $3.3 million. His trial began earlier in the year, in October, and he pleaded not guilty in January 2021.
After he was found guilty of the two counts, Materson was sent to jail where he will stay until August 4, the date of his next hearing.
The rapes occurred between 2001 and 2003. There were three different incidents involving three separate women, one of the accusers being his ex-girlfriend.
The crimes occurred at Masterson’s home in California. All three women took the stand in May 2021. The allegations came to light in March 2017 when the LAPD conducted an investigation of the rapes.
After these allegations surfaced, Masterson was fired from Netflix’s The Ranch where he played Jameson “Rooster” Bennett. He is also known for playing Steven Hyde on That’s 70’s Show.
