Dannielynn and Larry Birkhead Attend The Kentucky Derby

The father-daughter pair have attended the Kentucky Derby for years, giving the public a front row seat to Dannielynn’s childhood. Now 8, Dannielynn wore a pink Monsoon dress and accessorized with cute sandals and a sequined purse. Birkhead matched his daughter in a baby pink suit.

According to Birkhead, Dannielynn is a fashionista in the making and even picked out his outfit. “She had my outfit ready – she said, ‘Dad, you have to wear this outfit,’ then she said, ‘It doesn’t look right, you’ll embarrass me, so wear this [instead],’” Birkhead told reporters.

Birkhead also had a big part in putting together his daughter’s outfit for the big event, revealing it took two months to put all the pieces together to her satisfaction.

Though Dannielynn has been in the spotlight since she was born and worked as a model for GUESS Kids in 2012, Birkhead said he wants to make sure she can relax and be a kid. “I just got offered to do a father-daughter movie, but we don’t know. We try to be conservative and let her be a kid – she’s in Girl Scouts right now.”
