Daniel P. Jorgensen, a former musician with Owl City, was indicted on Tuesday in Atlantic County, N.J. He was charged with child-luring and fourth-degree sexual contact. He allegedly tried to convince a 14-year-old teen to come to his hotel room and the band’s tour bus. He also allegedly made criminal sexual contact with the girl on one of Atlantic City’s beaches.
The incident happened in 2013 while the band was touring across the country. Jorgensen reportedly got in touch with the teen on the Internet. The prosecutor said that he “encouraged her to come to Atlantic City where he was working as a musician and band manager on Aug. 29, 2013.”
Jorgensen faces five to ten years in prison. The bail was set at $100,000.
Jorgensen’s indictment won’t have any consequence for Owl City since the band ended his contract in December 2013, just after the allegations of misconduct surfaced.
Owl City’s new album Mobile Orchestra was released on July 10. The band will be touring the U.S. in October.
