‘Dancing With The Stars’ Wants Former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer

In any other White House administration, a transition from politics to reality TV might seem like a stretch. But when the President once starred in his own reality TV series for over ten years, a move from government to TV doesn’t seem so odd.

The producers of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars reportedly want former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer to join the cast for the upcoming season of the dance competition show.

After resigning from his White House position last Friday, Spicer has been seen meeting with top executives at several large TV news networks, including ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox News, according to Page Six. Spicer’s insider knowledge of the ever volatile administration could prove useful to any of the aforementioned news networks.

But if Spicer wants a moment away from political life – but not away from the spotlight – it seems he has options.

While actor Zach Braff jokingly tweeted that he “Can’t wait to see Sean Spicer waltz on Dancing With the Stars,” after learning of Spicer’s resignation, it seems that he may not have to wait much longer.

“That has legs,” a source told Page Six.

Spicer resigned from his White House post last Friday after learning the President Donald Trump had hired former contributor to Fox News Anthony Scaramucci to be the new White House Communications Director. Spicer had reportedly told the President that he would not serve under Scaramucci because he had reservations about the optics of the hire.

As such, Spicer stepped down the day Scaramucci was hired.

During his tenure as press secretary, Spicer became somewhat of a cultural phenomenon. Melissa McCarthy parodied the quick-tempered and combative spokesman in several celebrated sketches on Saturday Night Live. Spicer’s frequent mispronunciations and his random outrageous claims made headlines on several occasions.

Spicer wouldn’t be the first person close to Trump to compete on Dancing with the Stars. Former Governor of Texas and current Secretary of the Department of Energy Rick Perry competed on the show’s 23rd season. He was eliminated after the second week.
