Blizzard conditions in the state caused many traffic accidents, including one involving a tour bus with the cast and crew for the live DWTS show. They were headed to a performance in Ames, Iowa, when the pileup occurred. The crew suffered minor injuries, but no one was seriously hurt from the show. The accident took place on Interstate-35 and involved more than 50 cars because of the snowy road conditions. Temperatures on the road had gotten down to below -18º Celsius, which is a little below 0º in Fahrenheit.

Season 24 stars Jordan Fisher and Frankie Muniz were on the bus during the crash and both posted about the incident on their respective Twitters. “Thanking God for the safety of our crew. Thanks for the prayers and well-wishes,” Fisher wrote. “Riding in the bus on our way to the show tonight in Ames, Iowa, looking out the window at the snow covered ground in this crazy blizzard listening to unreleased songs of a band I was in 8 years ago…” said Muniz.
