Gov. Jim Justice’s (R-West Virginia) pet English bulldog, Babydog, appeared onstage with him during the Republican National Convention.

On Tuesday night, Justice spoke up at the event about Babydog’s prediction regarding the future of the Republican party.

“Now, Babydog’s got a prediction for everybody here,” he stated. “And here’s the prediction: Babydog says we’ll retain the House – the majority in the House.”

In response to this statement, the West Virginia governor received applause from the crowd of listeners.

He received more adulation after he claimed that Republicans are “going to flip the United States Senate.”

After receiving more praise from the audience, the governor stated that his pet English bulldog mentioned that she knows the Republicans will win because they are “worth it,” which earned him more applause.

Babydog amused her fans during the night by being wheeled around the convention floor in a yellow wagon with a water bowl for her.

She also offered her appreciation to the public in an X post.

“I enjoyed meeting so many of you at the @GOPconvention,” the X post read. “Thank you for the treats, the pets, and all the photos!”

The bulldog’s post also included her giving a shoutout to Gov. Henry McMaster (R-South Carolina).

“Now, Governor @HenryMcMaster is one of my favorites,” the post stated. “I can spot a bulldog man a mile away, and next time, I hope he gets to bring his bulldog, Mac!”

While giving his State of the State speech on February 3, 2022, Justice used Babydog as a prop in order to tell Bette Midler to kiss his bulldog’s “heinie.”

His remark was made in response to a tweet Midler wrote in 2021 in which she condemned the state of West Virginia.

Justice the is the GOP nominee for a West Virginia Senate seat, which he is widely expected to win.
