Tommy Lee Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Woman During 2003 Helicopter Flight While Under The Influence Of Drugs

A woman, currently known anonymously as Jane Doe, recently accused Tommy Lee of sexually assaulting her during a helicopter flight from San Diego to Van Nuys, California, in February 2003 while he was intoxicated.

A civil complaint was filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on December 15. It asserts that Doe was encouraged by Lee’s personal helicopter pilot, David Martz, to ride the helicopter.

Mayhem Touring, of which Lee was president and owner at the time, and Socal Helicopters, of which Martz was owner at the time, were named in the lawsuit as co-defendants.

According to the lawsuit, Martz died in a plane crash in August 2015. His pilot’s license was revoked three times.

Doe also alleged in the filing that she had been invited on a private helicopter flight by Martz. She had not been aware that Lee would also be onboard.

Doe claimed that she and Martz became friends while she worked as a bank teller at some point, either at the end of 2001 or the beginning of 2002.

She accepted his offer for a private flight, which she viewed as an act of friendliness.

The victim mentioned that, on the day of the tour, the lunch plans that she and Martz had scheduled ahead of time were canceled at the last minute.

When she arrived at the hangar where the helicopter was, Lee was there, with Martz declaring that he had to transport Lee to Van Nuys and that this trip would take, at the most, 35 to 40 minutes. He then told her to hop in.

The woman stated that Martz and Lee consumed alcohol, marijuana and cocaine almost right after they took flight. Martz told her via the helicopter’s headphone system to relax.

According to the lawsuit, Martz then requested that she go into the cockpit and sit down with Lee. When she refused to do so, Lee asked her to sit on his lap.

The victim stated that she felt pressured by Martz and Lee to enter the cockpit, so she did as asked.

Within a matter of minutes in the cockpit, Lee started kissing and groping her. When she attempted to get away from him, he became more aggressive and sexually assaulted her.

The victim claimed that Martz just watched and smiled.

After the helicopter landed at Van Nuys Airport, Lee embraced the woman and got out of the helicopter. The woman then traveled back to the airfield in San Diego speechless.

She claimed that she did not make contact with Martz again until 2009, when they communicated during a short telephone call.

According to the lawsuit, the woman endured shock, distress, humiliation, shame and guilt because of the assault.

Those feelings, in addition to Lee’s fame and the status of the music industry during the time, caused the victim to believe that nothing good would come out of reporting the sexual assault.

The woman claimed that, ever since the 2003 incident, she learned that it is likely that she was not the only victim of Martz and Lee.

The victim is asking for a jury trial for damages of sexual assault, gender violence, intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligence.

In August 2022, Lee posted a revealing selfie on Instagram in which the top of his face was not made visible. “Oooooops,” he stated in the caption.

In April, he posted a passive-aggressive apology on this social networking service to the LGBTQ community for reposting a homophobic clip from the OAN (One America News Network). In this clip, the network’s host, Liz Wheeler, was rallying against transgender people who identify themselves as “transracial and “transabled.”
