Taylor Lautner flexed his arm muscles in a mirror selfie he posted on his Instagram story in response to negative comments he’s been getting from fans.

In the photo, the 31-year-old Twilight star wears a sleeveless tank tee and blue sports shorts, alongside a caption that reads: “Let’s get it.”

A few hours after the post, Lautner followed up with an after-workout snapshot with sweat on his forehead, captioning “Told ya.”

The toned actor is famous for his ripped appearance in the Twilight film series, where he showed off his six-pack playing werewolf Jacob Black.

Although Lautner seems to be confidently showcasing his athletic physicality, he recently opened up through a four-minute video he posted on Instagram about receiving negative comments after attending a press event for The Squeeze with his wife Taylor Dome.

In the video, Lautner highlighted some unfavorable comments under a social media post of him and his wife’s photo such as “not aging well,” “aged like a raisin” and some about his receding hairline.

Lautner admitted that he was bothered by the comments. He explained that If he received those comments when he was younger “that really would have gotten under my skin” and could lead him to “want to just go in a hole and not go outside.”

Lautner expressed his gratitude for knowing who he is right now. “It does make me question who I am, it doesn’t take anything away from me,” he added.

The video post was hashtagged Mental Health Awareness Month as Lautner openly discussed his perception of processing negative comments on social media.

“If you put your value in what other people think of you, that’s how you’re going to feel. But if you put your value in you knowing who you are, what’s important to you, what you love, that kind of stuff won’t get to you,” he said.

“Just be nice,” he added at the end of the video. “Let’s spread love and positivity.”
