At a ’90s convention in Tampa, Florida, Beverly Hills 90210 star Shannen Doherty was given a standing ovation. The actress, 52, is currently battling stage 4 breast cancer.
Joined by her co-stars Tori Spelling, Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris and Brian Austin Green, Doherty received huge support from the audience and her cast mates.
“Shannen, I know I speak on behalf of this crew, on behalf of all of these people, how happy we are to see you here,” Breanne Heldman, the panel moderator, said before the rupture of applause filled the room. Heldman said she “felt the love” on stage between the castmates.
“Thank you so much. You guys know how much I love crying constantly. And I do, it seems. So, thank you,” Doherty said. “I have a fight for my life, that I deal with every day. I think I am really great.”
Doherty was initially diagnosed with cancer in 2015. Despite going into remission two years later, it came back in 2020. She has been very public about her fight with cancer. Often posting videos of her going into surgery or receiving radiation treatment. She revealed earlier this year that the cancer had spread to her brain.
