Christian Richard, estranged husband of Selling Sunset star Christine Quinn, has asked a Los Angeles court to change a temporary restraining order that currently gives Quinn sole access to their Hollywood Hills home. According to court documents, Richard, a former Cisco software engineer whose legal name is Christian Dumontet, is seeking to amend the order so he can address significant water damage at the property.

In a filing submitted Tuesday, Richard explained that he has been receiving daily fines from the Los Angeles Vector Control since July 18, due to the property’s neglect. He attributes the high utility bill—exceeding $10,000—to his inability to access the property for necessary maintenance, a situation he blames on Quinn’s restraining order.

Richard, who shares a 3-year-old son with Quinn, alleges that his attempts to resolve the issue with the real estate agent representing Quinn have been unsuccessful. The documents state that Richard owns the property outright, with no marital interest or funds mixed during their marriage.

The filing also includes a request for reimbursement of $29,000 in rental value for the home and the cost of Hermés bags purchased during their marriage. Richard’s legal team claims these items were bought with his separate property and were intended as investment pieces.

Images of the property’s mailbox, included in the filing, show it filled with late payment notices and fines related to mosquito inspection failures. Quinn‘s legal team, however, disputes Richard’s claims, suggesting that the alleged water damage may actually be an overdue utility bill. They argue that the water issues began in September 2023 following a pipe burst that flooded the basement.

Richard and Quinn’s marriage deteriorated in March, following an incident where Richard was arrested for domestic violence after allegedly striking their son with a glass bottle. He was arrested a second time shortly after being released for returning to their home despite the restraining order. Richard has denied these allegations, asserting that the altercation was over a disagreement about Quinn’s untrained dogs.

In April, Richard filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences” and seeking sole custody of their son. The couple, who married in 2019, welcomed their child in May 2021
