Actress Rumer Willis has announced her separation from musician Derek Richard Thomas, marking the end of their two-year relationship. The 36-year-old daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore shared the news during an Instagram “Ask Me Anything” session on Thursday.

“I’m navigating single motherhood and co-parenting now,” Willis revealed to her followers. She expressed deep gratitude for her daughter Louetta, born in April 2023, calling her “the best thing in my life.”

The couple first went public with their relationship in November 2022, sharing photos on social media. Just a month later, they announced they were expecting their first child together.

Throughout their relationship, Willis and Thomas, 29, frequently shared affectionate posts about each other online. In a heartfelt February 2023 Instagram tribute, Willis praised Thomas for his positivity and support, crediting him with bringing joy and adventure to her life.

Despite the split, Willis remains focused on motherhood. She hinted at plans for a large family, telling fans she’s considering having “six or seven more children” in the future.

The actress also provided an update on her father, Bruce Willis, who was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia in 2023. “He’s doing great,” she assured fans, adding, “I love him so much.”

Rumer is the eldest of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore’s three daughters. The former couple, who divorced in 2000, also share Tallulah, 33, and Scout, 30. Bruce Willis later married Emma Heming Willis, with whom he has two younger daughters.

While adjusting to life as a single parent, Willis emphasized her appreciation for the time she shared with Thomas and the gift of their daughter. “I’m forever grateful I was able to have the time in that relationship for her to come into my life,” she reflected.
