Perennial Bachelor Sen. Tim Scott Marries Fiancée Mindy Noce In A South Carolina Wedding Ceremony

Sen. Tim Scott (R-South Carolina) married his fiancée, interior designer Mindy Noce, during a ceremony at their hometown chapel, Seacoast Church in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.

Among the readings at the wedding ceremony, which took place on Saturday, was a Bible passage that started with the reflection, “Two are better than one.” 

Founding Seacoast Pastor Greg Surratt, a longtime friend and close mentor who counseled Scott while he weighed a 2024 Republican presidential bid, officiated. The groom’s older brother, Ben Scott, was his best man. 

Joni Blair became best friends with Noce when they attended the College of Charleston, and was the interior designer’s matron of honor.

Scott and Noce, engaged in January, shared their first dance to “Swayin’ to the Music (Slow Dancin’)” by Johnny Rivers.

In addition to close family and friends, the guest list included former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and Sen. John Thune (R-South Dakota).

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina), Sen. James Lankford (R-Oklahoma) and Trey Gowdy, the former South Carolina congressman-turned-Fox News host who helped write the book Unified with Scott in 2018, also came.

“Tonight, we promised to cherish and nourish each other and our marriage for the rest of our lives,” Scott wrote on X on August 3. “Mindy, you’ve made me the happiest man alive. I love you.”

In this post, he shared two photos from the ceremony and a Bible verse, Matthew 19:6, which reads: “So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

“Congratulations to my longtime friend, Senator Tim Scott, and his beautiful bride, Mindy Noce, who were married today in the Great State of South Carolina,” former President Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social on Saturday. “You have a GREAT future. God bless you both!”

During an interview with The Post and Courier the day before his wedding, the South Carolina senator stated that he believed the timing was right, even if it meant he had to wait decades for his bride.

“Part of the blessing for me was not getting married before now,” he said. 

He also mentioned that learning some hard truths about love took him a while. “Right girl, wrong time is a mess,” Scott noted. “Wrong girl, right time is chaos.”

However, Scott recognized that most of his life, until now, was mainly dedicated to his political career.

“Like everybody else, I think we pretty selfishly want what we want,” he claimed. “I think marriage helps you understand that maybe it’s not the only mission on the planet to get what you want, but it is to help others enjoy life’s journey, as well to be an ambassador of hope.”

During an appearance on Meet the Press on May 5, Scott told host  Kristen Welker that he would not commit to accepting the results of the 2024 presidential election.

In late June, Scott stated that his relationship with Noce was “heaven-sent.”
