Man Stabbed With Glass Bottle During Flight To St. Lucia By Fellow Passenger, Requires 13 Stitches

A frenzy occurred on a flight from London Gatwick Airport to St. Lucia when a man was stabbed with a broken glass bottle by another passenger.

Onlookers reported that the British Airways airline supplied him with “unlimited” alcohol and allowed him to harass other women on the flight.

According to the passengers, there was a large group of men who spent the flight partying and drinking and then proceeded to grab or harass female travelers. They would stand in front of the restroom in the back of the plane and try to grab them if they attempted to get to the bathroom.

An hour and 20 minutes away from landing, a fight broke out between two male passengers, and the crew did not intervene or even attempt to stop them. This led to the stabbing where two men were injured by the glass.

The brawl occurred when the two men were having a heated argument, and one of them went into the kitchen to obtain a bottle. He proceeded to smash it, which sent glass flying around the plane, and made a beeline back to the other man and stabbed him. Passengers and staff attempted to step in at this point, causing another person to get injured and blood to splatter.

A video was taken of part of the altercation and captioned, “Chaos In The Air – This Bucket hat individual in a British Airways flight 2159 from Gatwick to St Lucia stabbed two passengers with a broken bottle due to an escalated brawl.”

A nurse on board helped to treat the two victims.

Allegedly, the aggressor was one of many men who blocked women’s access to the bathroom. He was kept in another area of the plane for the remainder of the flight.

After landing, medical assistance brought the injured passengers to St. Jude Hospital where one of the victims required 12 stitches. The man was removed by police and arrested.

St. Lucia police have asserted that they are investigating the matter and BA has stated that they are “handling” the incident. BA has yet to reach out to any of the travelers.
