Justin Bieber delivered a high-profile performance at a pre-wedding celebration in Mumbai, India, on Friday, reportedly earning $10 million for the one-night engagement.
The Canadian singer took the stage at an event honoring billionaire Anant Ambani and his fiancée, Radhika Merchant. Bieber, known for hits like “Baby” and “Peaches,” performed several of his popular songs to an enthusiastic crowd.
Ambani is the son of Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries and Asia’s wealthiest individual, with a net worth of $114 billion according to Forbes. The bride-to-be, Merchant, is the daughter of Viren Merchant, CEO of ENCORE Healthcare.
The couple’s nuptials, scheduled for July 12-14, are being hailed as India’s “wedding of the year.” Friday’s celebration was one of several pre-wedding events leading up to the main ceremony.
Bieber shared glimpses of the extravagant affair on social media, posting photos of himself mingling backstage with the soon-to-be newlyweds. He also uploaded videos of his performance, showcasing the crowd’s enthusiasm as they sang along to his music.
This is not the first star-studded event for the couple. In March, they hosted another pre-wedding celebration featuring a live performance by Rihanna.
Bieber’s appearance at the Mumbai event marks a return to high-profile performances for the singer, who is currently expecting his first child with wife Hailey Bieber.
