Ex-Rep. George Santos Finds Success – As A Cameo Star Charging $300 Per Video, Making A Lot More Than He Did As A Congressman
During his time as a congressman, George Santos‘ yearly salary was $174,000. However, even after becoming the first person in two decades to be expelled from Congress, he seems to have discovered a more profitable career as a Cameo user.
The video platform Cameo allows its customers to pay celebrities of different levels of infamy to create personalized video messages for their friends.
The platform allows celebrities to make millions of dollars with minimal work, which seems perfect for Santos.
Santos’ videos were originally underpriced at $75 and since then he has continued to raise the price.
Despite having raised the price to $300 per video, he continues to receive hundreds of requests.
The former congressman is currently on his way to making a lot more money than he did as a congressman.
The former representation seems to be continuing his lying ways on Cameo.
For instance, he posted a video in early December where he told a fan: “Hey Harper! I love that you are such a dedicated student at NYU. You know – my – not-so-real MBA. But I just wanted to stop by and give you some encouragement: finish them papers. Don’t don’t mess around. Like, make sure that the papers are done, if you wanna graduate, if you want a life. And remember, if you have student loans – those student loans aren’t gonna pay themselves – finish – finish the papers. No, no, seriously, don’t go out, don’t go have fun. Just finish the d— papers. Finish those papers. Finish project. Dusty, Amy, Steve, Peyton and Louis, love you, bye.”
Santos acknowledged last year that he did not graduate from college.
“I didn’t graduate from any institution of higher learning. I’m embarrassed and sorry for having embellished my resume,” said in a statement after his claim of graduating from Baruch College was proven to be a lie. “I own up to that.”
Santos was formally expelled from the House last month after a scathing report by the House Ethics Committee was issued. His expulsion was even parodied by Saturday Night Live.
