Donald Trump Mocked For Getting His Son Barron’s Age Wrong In New Interview

Former President Donald Trump was mocked on social media for stating that his 18-year-old son, Barron Trump, is 17 years old.

Barron turned 18 back on March 20.

Trump made this error on May 9 when he was asked during an interview with Miami’s Telemundo 51, NBC’s Spanish-language network, about his son entering politics now that the Florida GOP picked him as an at-large delegate for the state at the Republic National Convention in July.

“Well, to me, that’s very cute because he’s a very young guy,” the former president replied.

“And he’s graduating from high school this year – he’s a very good student, very smart,” he said. “And I think that’s great. I think it’s very interesting, too.”

“He’s pretty young, I will say,” the former president noted. “He’s 17. But if they can do that, I’m all for it. I think I’m all for it, and he probably would be, knowing him – he would probably be for it too.”

Asked for comment, Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung replied to Trump’s mistake and attacked NBC News in a statement.

“NBC News has lost its mind and clearly suffers from Trump Derangement Syndrome,” Cheung said in his statement. “Instead of focusing on President Trump’s second-term agenda and undoing Crooked Joe Biden’s disastrous policies, NBC has chosen to engage in tabloid journalism fit for the checkout aisle of a grocery store.”

X users had slammed the former president for making this mistake.

“No father who is [in] their right mind doesn’t know their son’s age,” one user wrote.

“He clearly has dementia, clearly,” another user claimed.

“To Trump’s defense, Barron was 17 the last time he saw him,” one user joked, referring to the fact that Trump is currently busy with his New York hush money trial.

On July 21, 2023, Trump reshared a photoshopped image of Barron on Truth Social that a supporter made in a political jab at President Biden.

The Truth Social post caption reads, “In an effort to level the playing field, Barron Trump will debate Joe Biden.”

Trump replied by saying, “No contest!!” He received almost 20,000 likes.

On April 30, Judge Juan Merchan allowed Trump to miss a hush money trial court date in May to attend Barron’s graduation ceremony, which is set to take place at Oxbridge Academy in Palm Beach, Florida.
