Director Of New O.J. Simpson Docuseries Uncovered Incriminating Evidence That Was Never Presented At Murder Trial

Floyd Russ, the director of the new O.J. Simpson Netflix docuseries, American Manhunt: OJ Simpson, has revealed that he uncovered incriminating evidence that was not presented at Simpson’s murder trial.

Simpson was acquitted of the murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman.

The docuseries director also told The New York Post that for “almost everybody that [the crew] interviewed, the word ‘regret’ is something that you could talk about for hours.”

“Just looking at the world and what’s happened in the last six to seven years – things like the MeToo movement, Black Lives Matter and the surge of true crime – we think of O.J. as the most epic, iconic, crazy, disastrous, true crime story ever,” he declared. It has themes of domestic violence, themes of race, themes of [police] versus prosecution versus defense, and who controls the narrative. Those are topics that I think people are talking about.”

Russ said that they reached out to Kris Jenner, who was best friends with Brown and whose ex-husband Robert Kardashian represented Simpson. However, Jenner refused to participate in the series.

“She has a direct narrative to tell,” the director shared. “And I’m sad that she decided not to.”

Back in April 2024, Jenner’s ex-spouse, Caitlyn Jenner, suggested on social media that she was happy about Simpson’s death in April 2024, writing “Good riddance.”

Russ’ four-episode Netflix docuseries includes interviews with various people related to the case, including criminal defense attorney Carl E. Douglas, co-prosecutor Christopher Darden and Simpson’s former agent Mike Gilbert.

The series focuses on the deaths that took place at Brown’s home in Los Angeles.

It provides new insights like evidence found at Simpson’s house on the night of the killings but had never been collected. This evidence includes an empty knife box found in his bathroom, wet clothes in a washing machine and an opened first-aid kit found in a cupboard.

Russ explained that Simpson passed away when the crew was “about 75%” finished making the docuseries.

“O.J. was sick, but he told people on social media that he was fine,” the director recalled. “So it’s like he lied to everybody, all the way to his deathbed.”

Days before Simpson died, his children, with whom he shared with Brown, were allegedly forced to sign non-disclosure agreements along with other members of his family.
