Bruce Willis & Demi Moore’s Daughter, Tallulah, Shares Journey With Skin-Picking Disorder: ‘It Can Be Beautiful’

Tallulah Willis, the daughter of Hollywood icons Demi Moore and Bruce Willis, courageously opened up about her struggles with a skin-picking disorder known medically as dermatillomania. In a heartfelt Instagram post shared on Sunday, she posted a flashback photo from three years ago, revealing the toll the disorder has taken on her face.

In her post, Tallulah emphasized that skin picking is a common occurrence for many, writing, “Old pic, but just out here trying to shout to the rooftops that picking HAPPENS!!!” She continued, adding, “And, honestly, it can be beautiful?” Her message encouraged others dealing with similar issues to treat themselves with kindness. “So next time you have a blackout and come to with a plethora of little scabby spots, give yourself some gentility!! Pls! Thank you.”

Tallulah also urged her followers to check out the resources available through the Picking Me Foundation, which offers support for individuals coping with dermatillomania. Her sister, Scout Willis, showed her support by liking the post. Tallulah tagged Jennifer Hollander, a board-certified nurse practitioner who often shares insights on skin conditions like Melasma and treatments like the Vampire Facial.

Dermatillomania, also known as excoriation disorder, is a mental health condition characterized by compulsive skin picking, often leading to scarring and other skin damage. The Cleveland Clinic notes that it’s a challenging condition that can significantly impact a person’s quality of life.

In June, Tallulah, 30, shared remarkable before-and-after photos on Instagram, documenting her journey toward healing from this disorder. The “before” image depicted her face with reddish scabs and scratches around her mouth, nose and eyes, while the “after” image revealed a clearer, more blemish-free complexion.

“PICKING HAPPENS!! And then healing can happen,” she wrote in the caption. Tallulah’s message was one of hope and perseverance, reminding her followers that healing doesn’t always mean achieving perfect skin or stopping intrusive thoughts. Instead, it’s about celebrating small victories along the way. “There’s such a community in this struggle, and I want so badly to share how I achieved my wins and help rescue all the sweet picked faces of the world!” she concluded.

Tallulah first disclosed her battle with the disorder in 2021, expressing her satisfaction with the progress she was making in her skincare routine. She proudly shared before-and-after images at that time, highlighting her success in refraining from picking her face for four months. Her recent post also follows her revelation earlier this summer that she has been diagnosed with autism, a discovery that she says has profoundly impacted her life.

Tallulah recently blasted a social media fan for saying that she and her sisters look like “unattractive clones” of their father.
