7 Chilean Migrants Charged With Burglaries At Patrick Mahomes & Travis Kelce’s Mansions, Took Selfies With The Loot

Seven citizens of Chile have been charged in connection to the burglaries at the mansions of Kansas City Chiefs players Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. All seven were migrants who entered the country illegally. 

On Oct. 6, 2024, police were called to Mahomes’ mansion, 28 miles south of Kansas City, right after midnight when a security team member reported a break-in. There had been no signs of forced entry, and it was unknown if anything had been stolen. 

The next day, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Kelce’s mansion, located ten miles north of Mahomes’ mansion and in the Kansas City area, also experienced a break-in. The back door was damaged, and $20,000 in cash was stolen.

The charge against the seven Chilean nationals was announced on Feb. 18 in a statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Middle District Florida.

“Acting United States Attorney Sara C. Sweeney announces the unsealing of a criminal complaint charging Pablo Zuniga Cartes (24, Chile), Ignacio Zuniga Cartes (20, Chile), Bastian Jimenez Freraut (27, Chile), Jordan Quiroga Sanchez (22, Chile), Bastian Orellano Morales (23, Chile), Alexander Huiaguil Chavez (24, Chile), and Sergio Ortega Cabello (38, Chile) with conspiracy to commit interstate transportation of stolen property,” the statement noted. “If convicted, each faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison.”

“According to the complaint, the individuals were members of a South American Theft Group that burglarized the homes of professional athletes around the country,” it goes on to say. “These individuals targeted high-profile athletes in the National Football League (“NFL”) and National Basketball Association (“NBA”), all of whom were away or playing in professional games at the times of the burglaries. These individuals stole valuables worth over $2 million.” 

The gang also targeted the home of Cincinnati Bengals’ QB Joe Burrow.
