Jeopardy!’s current undefeated champ Amy Schneider announced that she was robbed Sunday in her town of residence of Oakland, California, but assured fans that she was ok in a tweet.
Schneider has amassed 52,000 followers on Twitter and has become known for her humorous post-game threads where she reflects on episode highlights.
She shared the news Monday night, saying after the robbery “I then couldn’t really sleep last night, and have been dragging myself around all day trying to replace everything.” Schneider lost her phone, cards and ID in the mugging.
Oakland police confirmed the armed robbery occurred Sunday afternoon, and that no arrests had been made so far.
If Schneider was fazed by the robbery at all, it clearly was not an issue by Tuesday’s Jeopardy! episode, where she brought her winning streak up to 25 games won. Schneider’s total winnings are now $918,000, placing her 4th in Highest Winnings for regular season play, just behind Matt Amodio.
Jeopardy! also issued a statement in support of Schneider after she discussed her robbery, saying they “reached out to Amy privately to offer our help in any capacity.”
Schneider is the first openly trans Jeopardy! champion.
You can watch Schneider on Jeopardy! tonight at 7 p.m. ET.
