Cristiano Ronaldo Statue’s Bulge

The statue of Ronaldo, 29, was unveiled in his hometown of Funchal, Portugal on Monday. “I feel so proud to be honored with a statue in Madeira,” Ronaldo captioned a picture (above) on Instagram. “It’s a huge joy to share this moment with my family and the people from Madeira. Thank you all for the warm reception.”

While the statue is impressive in its own right, it’s the metal bulge of the soccer star’s likeness that’s drawing the most attention. Instead of focusing on the honor, most outlets covering the ceremony have been having fun with the generous depiction of Ronaldo’s manhood.

Ronaldo hasn’t commented on the media frenzy surrounding his statue’s bulge, and has only spoken about being proud of the recognition for his skill on the soccer field. “This is a very special moment, to have a statue of me,” Ronaldo said during the event yesterday.
