Courtney Love Cobain temporarily lost custody of her 17-year-old daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, on December 10 in a decision by a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge. Custody and temporary guardianship of the estate of Frances has been given to Wendy O'Conner and Kimberly Cobain, Kurt Cobain's mother and sister. "Courtney's been clean for years and is perfectly fine," Love's attorney Keith Fink told People magazine. "This is simply about Frances preferring to live with her grandmother at this time… Frances is 17 and a strong-willed child, and this is a decision she made on her own."
