Country singer Morgan Wallen was arrested on three felony charges in Nashville after allegedly throwing a chair from a rooftop bar.
Wallen, 30, threw a chair from the roof of Chief’s Bar, six stories tall, at 11 p.m. on Sunday. Two Metro Nashville police officers at ground level saw the chair fall from the roof. The police arrested and charged Wallen on three counts of reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. Wallen was also given a $15,250 bond.
Worrick Robinson, Wallen’s attorney, released a statement regarding the arrest.
“At 10:53 p.m. Sunday evening, Morgan Wallen was arrested in downtown Nashville for reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. He is cooperating fully with authorities.”
Court dates for Wallen are set for May 2 and 3, when the singer will also be performing at Nissan Stadium for the Stagecoach music festival.
In 2021, Wallen faced backlash for his use of racial slurs while intoxicated. Video captured by Wallen’s neighbors showed Wallen shouting the N-word while arriving at his house in Nashville with a group of friends. Wallen’s contract with Big Loud Records was suspended following the incident.
In 2020, Saturday Night Live producers canceled his appearance on the show for violating COVID-19 protocols at a house party captured on video.
Wallen is currently on his One Night At A Time tour.
