Thousands of Morgan Wallen fans had already arrived at Vaught Hemingway Stadium on Sunday night (April 23) when they were told that the country singer would not be able to perform.
The large video boards inside the stadium informed the audience that Wallen lost his voice. The statement read: “Ladies and gentlemen, unfortunately, Morgan has lost his voice and is unable to perform tonight. Therefore, tonight’s show has been canceled. Please make your way safely to the stadium exits. Refunds for tonight’s event will be available at the point of purchase.”

The news came as a surprise as the 29-year-old performed at the same stadium the night before. Many concertgoers expressed their disappointment on social media.
Wallen’s cancellation comes just 11 dates into his seven-month global tour. The country singer posted on Instagram that he started losing his voice after Saturday night’s show. On Sunday, he spent the day resting, working with his doctor and doing vocal exercises in an attempt to get better. However, this wasn’t enough, leading Wallen to cancel at the last minute.
His next tour date is in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on April 27.
The release of Wallen’s 2023 album One Thing At A Time was successful. Its 36 tracks garnered about 500 million streams, while the LP’s hit single “Last Night” topped Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart.
A week of rest for Wallen would cancel performances at Grand Rapids, Michigan (April 27), Moline, Illinois (April 28) and Lincoln, Nebraska (April 29). The next tour date is three shows in Jacksonville, Florida, starting on May 4.
