Terrell Owens, a free agent wide receiver, might be looking to parlay his football fame and fortune into a job with ABC as the new The Bachelor star.
Owens, 40, expressed his interest in being on The Bachelor during a “Hang w/” video session with his Celebrity Apprentice co-stars Ian Ziering and Lorenzo Lamas, both of whom gave Owens their support.
"You heard that? From two white guys! I should be 'The Bachelor!' Holla back!" said Owens. “They’ve never had a black bachelor. It’s always been interesting you know, why there hasn’t been. Maybe they think that there’s not enough of an audience for it.”
“I don’t know, but I’m a guy that I feel like is of good taste, good quality,” Owens went on. “I’ve had my share of women, so to speak. I am definitely prepped to go and do bigger and better things with my life. I am looking for a special someone. I’ve been through the ups and downs, the highs and lows. Somebody I can really trust, confide in, grow old with. I’m thinking I’m ready. I am.”
Owens played 15 years in the NFL, spending time on the rosters of the San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals, and lastly, the Seattle Seahawks in 2012. Though the six-time Pro Bowl selection is likely past his prime, he’s yet to officially retire from the sport and remains a free agent.
On the upcoming season of Celebrity Apprentice, Owens is competing with Ziering, Lamas, Geraldo Rivera, David Hasselhoff ,Kate Gosselin, Shawn Johnson, Martina Navratilova, Gabrielle Reese, Kenya Moore, Brandi Glanville, Ludacris, Keshia Knight Pulliam and Vivica A. Fox.
