Corey Sligh, who appears on CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless, was beaten on Thanksgiving after asking drivers to be more careful in a drug store parking lot.

Corey Sligh’s Arm Broken In Beating

Sligh, 27, had been with his girlfriend, actress Alisa Berhorst, in a parking lot outside of a Rite Aid, where he was going to deliver a Thanksgiving meal to a friend who is employed there. A pair of apparently drunk individuals was driving erratically and pulling donuts in the lot, causing Sligh to ask them to be more careful.

“They almost hit people in the parking lot. They were hitting curbs, and Corey said, ‘Please slow down or we’re gonna call the cops, just go home,” Berhorst told KCAL9. “The guy walked up on him like ‘I’m in the mood to kill somebody and this is who it’s going to be because he told me to be careful and slow down and go away.”

“I’m thankful he’s okay,” added Berhorst. “I’m thankful that we didn’t get killed.”

Sligh suffered a broken arm in the attack and had to be transported to Cedars-Sinai Hospital. The two men in the car allegedly struck Sligh with the vehicle before exiting it to beat him up, causing the broken arm and other injuries.

“Hey kids, went to feed some people last night who don’t have blessed thanksgivings and along the way got struck by a drunk driver!” Sligh wrote on Instagram. “Have a surgery to go and another couple days in the hospital but should be fine soon! Thankful to still be on this great planet! Love y’all!”

The two suspects who caused Sligh’s injuries crashed their car soon after fleeing the scene and were apprehended by police.
