Former Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Florida) invited ex-Rep. George Santos (R-New York) on to his new talk show, The Matt Gaetz Show, to swap beauty secrets after being attacked online for looking like a cartoon character.
Santos, a former drag queen known as Kitara, was quick to offer a solution to Gaetz’s beauty problem, “Stop highlighting the center of your face; it makes your eyes very small,” he said in the second episode of Gaetz’s show, “and it gives you the glow, not the glow you think it gives you.”
Gaetz argued that he requires a highlighter due to suffering from a deep-set eye, but his former House colleague pointed to his appearance as an example, noting how his skin was “flawless” without the need for a highlighter.
“You’re a Florida man, and I’m in Florida right now. When you’re tan and a Florida man, you don’t need that level of highlighter.”
“Here’s what you need to do, Matt,” Santos said, offering his last piece of advice, “You need to go buy yourself Double Wear foundation from Estee Lauder.”
The hilarious exchange happened after Gaetz’s radically changed appearance caused a frenzy of harsh comments on social media.
“Holy make and Botox, Batman!” Democratic media strategist Vince Monroy joked on Bluesky. Others chimed in on the conversation, questioning why Gaetz was “turning into a character from Spaceballs. ” One social media user commented, “He looks like a Who from Whoville.”
However, the sudden makeup exposure is the least of Gaetz’s concerns as the former congressman continues to be embroiled in a sex scandal, having been accused of trafficking, fraud and illicit drug use.
The scandal forced Gatez to withdraw as President-elect Donald Trump‘s nominee to be attorney general.
Last August, Santos pleaded guilty to various financial crimes for which he is currently awaiting sentencing.
