Rapper Common, 51, and singer Jennifer Hudson, 42, teased fans with relationship hints in a recent segment on The Jennifer Hudson Show.

As a featured guest on the talk show, Common was welcomed to the stage with an endearing freestyle from Hudson, as he gifted her a bouquet and an enthusiastic hug. The romantic tension between the two was obvious from the start of the show.

The conversation flowed between the two, and Hudson didn’t waste any time asking Common, whose real name is Lonnie Lynn, about his dating life.

“Now, we gotta get down to business, Mr. Common. I’m a host and so I have to ask you this question ’cause everybody always wanna know this — are you dating anyone?” she asked eagerly.

Common responded, “I’m in a relationship that is with one of the most beautiful people I ever met in life…she’s smart, she loves God, she has something real down-to-earth about her, she’s talented.”

In 2022, Hudson won a Tony Award, helping her achieve EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony) status following her win as producer of Broadway’s A Strange Loop. Common stated that the woman he is dating has EGOT status, which made it apparent to viewers that he was talking about her.

It was then the rapper’s turn to interview Hudson about her dating life, and she reassured viewers that she was “very happy” at this point in her life with the person she is dating.

The two have been the subject of dating rumors since July 2022, after they worked together on the set of Breathe.

They have also been spotted spending copious amounts of time together, recently having dinner at Nobu in Los Angeles.

Last year, Common spoke to uInterview exclusively about working with Tim Robbins on the Apple TV+ show Silo.

“I felt the oneness of this whole show, this production – from the writers to our crew, to the actors. That moment, it got me emotional because Tim is just a fun guy. He’s a smart dude, but you could see how much he enjoyed it and this is somebody who’s acted in some of the most classic films ever. So, I remember that moment and just recalling the fact and soaking [it all] in. I was like man, I’m a part of this incredible piece of work even before it was released. I just felt the experience was incredible and I’m working with Tim Robbins.”
