Columbus Short Arrested For Public Intoxication

Columbus Short, the erstwhile Scandal star, was arrested in Dallas for public intoxication in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Short, 31, was arrested at 2 a.m. on Saturday. He was apprehended at he Katy Trail Ice House restaurant and beer garden in the Texas city, a DPD spokesperson Warren Mitchell told CNN.

It’s unknown when Short was released from custody.

Allegedly, Short was involved in a bar fight with one of the establishment’s guards after a day and night of celebrating Fourth of July, reported TMZ. When approached by police officers, Short apparently got into a physical altercation with them as well. He was then taken to jail.

Back in March of this year, Short was arrested for an incident at a West Los Angeles bar where he allegedly knocked a man out following a dispute. If convicted for the incident, Short stands to serve four years behind bars.

Short is also facing a charge of misdemeanor spousal battery against his wife Tuere Short, who has since successfully appealed for a restraining order, and filed for divorce.

In April, Short announced he would no longer be on Shonda Rhimes' political drama Scandal in light of his legal and personal troubles.
