Dylan Gonzalez, a former basketball player at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, has released a public statement claiming that she was raped by singer Trey Songz. She has hired attorneys who are formally filing legal action against Songz.
Gonzalez wrote an emotional statement to Twitter and shared in it that hearing about other assaults committed by Songz, full name Tremaine Neverson, causes her to “repeatedly relive in my mind, and suffer anew, the long-suppressed horror and unbearable PTSD of my rape by his very hands at a well known Las Vegas Hotel.”
Gonzalez has hired lawyers George Vrabeck and Ariel Mitchell, who are also representing Jahaura Jeffries, a Songz accuser who recently emerged and alleged that Songz assaulted her at a Miami nightclub in 2018.
You can read Gonzalez’s full statement below:
Songz denied the accusations in a statement sent by his team, which read, “Trey and his team are confident in the legal process and that there will be an abundance of exonerating information to come over the next few weeks.”
Along with these recent accusations, Songz was accused of using “sexual intimidation” to get Keke Palmer to appear in his music video in 2017 and was alleged by an anonymous woman of urinating on her without her consent.
In an apparent response to Palmer’s claims, Songz wrote on Instagram, “So sorry for those that believe everything without knowing anything. However, I cannot devote my life to responding to, or clearing up every side over every story you hear about it, when would I actually live? I know my character, I know my truth I know my heart. God does too.”
Songz is also being investigated by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for a “sexual assault incident” that has been confirmed to be separate from Gonzalez and Jeffries’ accusations.
