Cody Simpson hasn't made his first appearance on Dancing With the Stars, and yet the novelty is likely already wearing off for the 17-year-old singer.

No Privacy For Cody Simpson

Simpson stands to earn, at the very least, $125,000 for appearing on Dancing With the Stars, according to his contract, which was obtianed by TMZ. But in addition to laying out his payment, Simpson's contract also stipulates how accessible to the show’s producers he has to be. During rehearsals and training, Simpson is expected to be mic’d at all times – except when he’s heading to the bathroom.

Any phone calls – business or private – that are taken during Simpson's DWTS time won’t be private, neither will conversations of any kind with his professional partner Witney Carson.

Since Simpson isn’t legally an adult yet, his contract had to be filed with the court, which is how TMZ managed to obtain it. According to the gossip site, the contract shows that DWTS has also retained the right to decide how Simpson styles his hair on the program.

The lack of autonomy might be worth it for the Australian pop star, however, as he stands to collect thousands more than his base fee if he can dance his way to later rounds of the competition.

Dancing With the Stars' 18th season will kick off Monday, March 17 on ABC at 8/7c.
