NBA star Kevin Love announced his engagement to his longtime girlfriend and popular Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Kate Bock on January 31. The Cleveland Cavaliers player proposed to Bock over the weekend during her birthday celebrations.
“Well, this was the best birthday surprise I could have ever imagined,” Bock wrote in a post on Instagram alongside pictures of her and Love, including close-ups of the stunning engagement ring. She closed out the caption by saying, “I couldn’t be happier to have been asked to be a Love by my love. Heart bursting all day & night.”
Love also took to his Instagram and 3.1 million followers to share a photo to commemorate the engagement, captioning it, “My Fiancé. The Joy of My Life,” alongside a quote from poet N. R. Hart.
A former teammate of Love’s, Tristan Thompson, commented on the photo, “Congrats brother,” and another friend of the couple, Patrick Schwarzenegger, wrote, “LOVE YOU BOTH!!! Congrats!!”
The couple has always been known to post loving and appreciative photos of each other, as just the day before the engagement was announced Love posted a photo of Bock on her birthday, captioning it, “Like a fine wine. Happiest birthday Katie, Sending so much love your way.”
The couple celebrated their five-year anniversary last summer.
