Christina Ricci treated her eight-year-old son to a trip to New York City despite her ex-husband, James Heerdegen, attempting to prevent him from going.
The Wednesday and Yellowjackets actress shared her and Freddie’s experience through her Instagram Stories. The trip began with a visit to the famed FAO Schwarz toy store where Ricci bought a box of Marvin’s Magic Snow, a powder that creates imitation snow when added to water.
The pair then went to Central Park and ate at the chic restaurant, Craft, afterward. There, Freddie dined on Osetra caviar dish with potato rosti, crème fraîche and a watermelon mocktail.
Ricci stated through court documents that Heerdegen would not permit Freddie to go with her to New York City after previously agreeing to the trip. She called the film producer’s behavior “vindictive” and later said, “Jimmy seems to be more focused on harassing and punishing me than on Freddie’s best interests.” She then requested that the court “consider retaliatory litigation conduct when making custody orders.”

The pair had married in 2013 after meeting on the set of Pan Am, but Ricci filed for divorce in 2020. In January 2021, the actress acquired a domestic violence restraining order against Heerdegen after accusing him of physical abuse. The former couple agreed on a custody arrangement in April 2021.
Ricci is currently married to hairstylist Mark Hampton. The pair married in October 2021 and share a one-year-old daughter, Cleopatra.
