Christie Brinkley, 69, Looks Better Than Ever In New Swimsuit Selfie, Even Inspiring Ariel In ‘Little Mermaid’

Christie Brinkley, 69, seems to have found the fountain of youth. At nearly 70, she not only looks great – but also feels it. 

“I feel good. I feel strong,” the model recently told People after saying she still felt like she did when she was approaching 30. “I feel like the number doesn’t match my spirit, so I may as well just keep spiriting on.”

The supermodel doesn’t believe in worrying about her age.

“I think curiosity in the world around you and just wanting to do something with each day, that is what keeps you young and going,” she added. 

Brinkley’s youthful beauty is also reported to have played a part in the making of Ariel in Disney’s animated classic, The Little Mermaid. With the live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid having its recent theatrical release, Brinkley recently took time to acknowledge her small (but vital) role in inspiring Ariel’s physical characteristics. 

She posted a side-by-side picture of herself and Ariel and screenshots of an article her friend sent her that mentioned the model’s role in the animated  Little Mermaid. 

“So this morning when a friend sent me this article about me being part of the inspiration for Ariel we all got a big kick out of it, even if it was a tiny part because we all saw a bit of ourselves in Ariel,” she wrote. 

Brinkley also shared her and her two daughters’ excitement about the Disney movie saying, “excited this delightful franchise continues with a brand new African American Ariel to enchant a new generation so young children of color can also see a little bit of themselves in Ariel! Wishing everyone happily every after and a storybook beautiful day!”
