Christie Brinkley, 69, Claps Back At ‘Wrinkle Brigade’ Trolls For Hateful Comments On Her ‘Old’ Appearance
Christie Brinkley is calling trolls out for being unkind, specifically those in her Instagram comments.
The former Sports Illustrated model recently shared a selfie on Instagram, accompanied by two snaps of the One World Trade Center building in New York City.
In the initial post, her caption declared herself a “Downton Girl,” nearly 40 years after famously being ex-husband Billy Joel’s “Uptown Girl.”
But upon receiving hateful comments about the 69-year-old’s wrinkles, she updated her caption calling out the “Wrinkle Brigade,” who she said “are the people that scan celebrities pages, hoping to find some cellulite, wrinkles, or anything that they can point to critique.”
“It must be some form of compensation for something that they are lacking,” Brinkley continued.
The mother-of-three also took time to acknowledge those who were kind to her and left loving comments.
“But when those people appear, there are others who pop up with messages so kind and valuable,” she wrote. “Those are the comments that restore my faith and make my heart sing! Thank you my sweet souls.”
Brinkley has never been one to hide her age. In addition to posting about her younger modeling days and pictures of her dressed up with a full face of makeup on, she also posts pictures of herself unfiltered and makeup-free, showing her aging face and the occasional gray hair.
A March Instagram post shows Brinkley sitting on a beach, with a gray sky in the background and obvious gray hair.

“Grey sky! Gray hair!” she captioned. “The second you see gray hair it raises the question, just like when you cut bangs…to keep or not to keep?”
While many comments advised against the gray hair, one user offered some words of support and wrote, “You’re gorgeous no matter what you decide.”
Earlier this month, Brinkley shared a swimsuit mirror selfie.
