Chrissy Teigen has been hospitalized because of pregnancy complications. For the past few weeks, the model and entrepreneur has taken to social media to explain how she’s been suffering from severe bleeding due to issues with her placenta, which suddenly intensified yesterday.
Almost three weeks ago, concerns around Teigen’s pregnancy began when she was put on bed rest. It was only set to last for around two weeks at the time.
But in her live last night, Teigen detailed how the bleeding which began a long time ago only worsened in intensity.
“I was always, always bleeding. I’m about halfway through pregnancy and the blood has been going for a month… maybe a little less than a month. But we’re talking more than your period, girls, and definitely not spotting. A lot of people spot and it’s usually fine. Mine was a lot,” Teigen explained, near tears. In a video she posted the night before, she had already started talking about how the bleeding had began to worsen, and she was feeling weaker.
“Honestly, just laying there would be blood, but today, the big difference was that it kind of was like if you were to turn a faucet onto low and leave it there,” she continued in her Instagram stories from last night. “It was at the point today where it was never stopping bleeding. That’s obviously very bad.”
She also begged people with medical backgrounds on both Twitter and Instagram to stop trying to help.
Aside from the posts where she updates her fans on her health, Teigen has also been working hard to keep up on overwhelmingly positive front, posting messages of appreciation to concerned fans who called her hospital, pictures of her food, and videos of her husband John Legend.
The rest of Teigen’s series of Instagram stories discuss her medical situation in slightly more detail, describing her unborn child as “the strongest coolest dude in the s–ttiest house.” She explained that, though she was scared, the most she could do was rest and wait for the next few weeks, making sure that the baby received as much fluid as possible.
“Thank you all. We love you, baby feels your love,” Teigen said to her fans, ending her video saga by blowing a kiss to the camera.
