Chrissy Teigen And John Legend Expecting First Child

Chrissy Teigen and her husband John Legend have announced that they are expecting their first child together.

Teigen revealed her pregnancy news on Instagram Monday. “John and I are so happy to announce that we are pregnant :),” Teigen captioned a picture with her singer-songwriter husband.

“As many of you know, we’ve been trying to have a baby for a while now. It hasn’t been easy, but we kept trying because we can’t wait to bring our first child into the world and grow our family,” Teigen added. “We’re so excited that it’s finally happening. Thank you for all your love and well wishes. I look forward to all the belly touching! Xx

Last month, Teigen opened up about her and Legend’s fertility struggles on lifestyle talk show FABLife. After sharing her frustration with getting asked about when they were going to welcome kids, Teigen said that it was a particularly tough subject for her, as she and Legend had long been trying.

“I will say, honestly, John and I were having trouble. We would have had kids five, six years ago if it had happened, but my gosh, it’s been a process,” Teigen said. “We’ve seen fertility doctors, and then once you open up about all those things to other people you start learning that a lot of other people in your life are seeing these people, and they have this shame about it.”

Teigen and Legend, who began dating in 2006, were married Sept. 14, 2013 after a two-year engagement.
