Actor Chris Pratt left fans divided after he excluded ex-wife Anna Faris from a social media Mother’s Day tribute. Pratt and Faris were married in 2009, two years after the couple met in 2007 on the film Take Me Home Tonight. After eight years of marriage, the couple filed for divorce in 2017, later finalized in 2018—the two share a son, Jack, born in 2012.

Pratt began a relationship with Katherine Schwarzenegger, daughter of The Terminator star Arnold Schwarzenegger. Pratt and Schwarzenegger married in 2019. The couple have two daughters together, Lyla and Eloise

This Sunday, on Mother’s Day, Pratt expressed his gratitude to his wife in an Instagram post. The carousel featured photos of Schwarzenegger and Pratt’s mother, Kathy.

“Happy Mother’s Day to all the mamas out there! Love to my Mom Kathy, who set a high bar for her love, patience, humor, and joy in motherhood,” Pratt wrote. “And a special thank you, my darling Katherine, for all you do. Witnessing you be a mom to Lyla and Eloise and a stepmom to Jack makes me fall more and more in love with you every day.”

Pratt’s post received mixed responses from fans. Some criticized Pratt for not acknowledging Faris as Jack’s mother.

“He should have posted the other mother of his child,” one user commented.

Other fans defended Pratt, pointing out that Faris and Pratt have been separated for years. Faris is also remarried to cinematographer Michael Barrett.

“Guys, Anna is his ex-wife. I think it would be weird if he were to post her also because we don’t know what terms they are on. It is also possible that he reaches out to her personally than to post her on social media,” one fan commented.

This is the second time Pratt was criticized for excluding Faris from a Mother’s Day post. Pratt faced backlash in 2023 for the same issue.

On Father’s Day, Pratt posted a tribute to his father-in-law, Arnold.
