Chris Pine has reportedly closed the deal to star opposite Gal Gadot in DC Movie Universe’s Wonder Woman flick.
Pine has officially landed the part of Steve Trevor in Wonder Woman, reported The Wrap. While Steve Trevor is technically Wonder Woman/Diane Prince’s love interest, he’ll get the chance to be in on some of the action as well. Further details on Pine’s character and the Wonder Woman plot in general have yet to be revealed.
Pine and Gadot have been the only casting announcements for Wonder Woman thus far.
Directing Wonder Woman will be Patty Jenkins (Monster) from a screenplay penned by Jason Fuchs (Pan). Husband and wife team Zack Snyder and Deborah Snyder are producing with Charles Roven and Richard Suckle.
Pine will soon be seen in Netflix series Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp, a prequel to the 2001 film. He’s also starring on the big screen in The Finest Hours and Star Trek Beyond, the third in the sci-fi film franchise.
Wonder Woman is slated to hit theaters June 23, 2017.
