Chris Pine started filming on his new movie Welcome to People with a bang.

The Star Trek star was spotted driving around in a red convertible in Los Angeles while shooting for the drama, which co-stars Elizabeth Banks, Olivia Wilde and Michelle Pfeiffer. The movie follows a man who must deliver part of his deceased father's fortune to a sister whom he has never met.

Pine just finished working on the romantic action comedy This Means War with Reese Witherspoon at the end of 2010 and joined the set of Welcome to People this week.

Alex Kurtzman, whom Pine worked with on Star Trek, wrote the screenplay and will make his directorial debut with this film. —ISHITA SINGH
