Chris Hemsworth and Margot Robbie are both urging their fellow Australians to vote in favor of same-sex marriage in next month’s plebiscite.
The stars separately posted Instagram photos for the cause. “Dear open minded, free speaking, laid back, life loving aussies. Marriage is about love and commitment and, in a country based on equal citizenship, it should be available to everyone! Vote now for marriage equality ✌️#equality,” Hemsworth captioned his post.
The image he posted alongside the caption reminded Australians that they have 24 hours to make sure their electoral information is all correct so that they will be able to vote.
Robbie posted a photo of herself wearing heart-shaped sunglasses. She captioned it, “LOVE IS LOVE ??? any Aussie’s living overseas like me, register to vote here: https://www.aec.gov.au/enrol/ before August 24th #marriageequality #australia ?️???.”
Hemsworth is married to Spanish actress Elsa Pataky, and the couple shares a 6-year-old daughter India Rose, and 3-year-old twin boys Tristan and Sasha. Robbie wed husband Tom Ackerley this past December after meeting on set of WWII film Suite Francaise in 2013.
Other Aussies and non-Aussies have also gotten in on the conversation and are urging citizens to vote in favor of marriage equality. Meghan Trainor, Stephen Fry, and Ellen DeGeneres have all posted messages to fans.
