After David Duke, former leader of the KKK, applauded Jeff Sessions‘ nomination on Twitter, actor Chris Evans had a few words to say.
The controversial tweet about the new U.S. Attorney General prompted the actor to comment: “If David Duke….DAVID!…DUKE!… thinks you’re right, then you are unequivocally wrong.”
Duke fired back, calling Evans a “typical dumb actor.”
But Evans continued, saying that “we can’t let hatred be the loudest voice.”
Much like the real Avengers, the actor who played Captain America chose to stand up for his beliefs. He gained a lot of support from fans on Twitter, and Duke did not respond with any further tweets.
