New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie showed off his dancing skills at the Apollo Theater fundraiser hosted by Jamie Foxx over the weekend in the Hamptons.
While enjoying the concert from the audience, Christie was called up on stage by Foxx, who said, “Christie, I know you got a dance in you,” according to the New York Post. Being a good sport and taking up the challenge, Christie climbed up and busted a few moves for the audience. Joining him onstage – in addition to Paul McCartney and Spike Lee – was Sen. John McCain.
“Its always the ones you don’t expect,” Foxx told Page Six about the people who dance at the benefit. “Republicans love to dance — in the Hamptons.” Incidentally, last year Colin Powell made headlines with his dance at the event.
Christie was invited to the benefit by New Jersey native Jon Bon Jovi, who performed during the night. There were also performances by Gladys Knight, Sting and Pharrell Williams.
Barbara Streisand, James Brolin, Jack Nicholson, Anjelica Huston, Robert De Niro, Howard Stern and Harvey Weinstein were among the guests that were present at the fundraiser, which raised $4 million for the Apollo.
